All the District Educational Officers in the state are here by informed that Sri Vipin Kumar Additional Secretary, Secretary, Department of School Education& Literacy, Ministry of Education Government of India has stated that. As you are aware that the Cabinet has approved a new centrally sponsored PM SHRI (PM ScHools for Rising India) scheme on 07th Sep 2022 that aims to establish more than 14,500 schools across India with comprehensive interventions to promote transformation in equity, access, quality, and inclusion. The online portal (https://pmshrischools.education.gov.in)of PM SHRI schools has been launched on 03.11.2022

The first phase of selection process through transparent challenge method has already been completed dated 28.03.2023. A total number of 543 schools have been selected in the 1st phase of selection process as PM SHRI Schools in Telangana

The selection of schools under PM SHRI Scheme for second cycle will be done through a transparent challenge method wherein Schools will self-apply on the online portal. A pool of eligible schools will be identified based on minimum benchmarks through UDISE data. These schools will compete in challenge method to fulfil certain criteria, and their fulfilment will be certified through physical inspection by States/UT/KVS/NVS.

The second phase of selection process will commence from 11-08-2023. The Online Challenge portal will remain open for application, verification and approval for Schools/District/State/UT/MOE

There are 4930 Govt. Schools have been shortlisted by the MoE in Second Phase, based on UDISE+ 2021-2022 data which qualifies (10) Minimum benchmarks for apply of Schools in online of PMSHRI portal.

1. The school should have its own pucca building in good condition.

2. Barrier free access built in accordance with safety norms. 

3. The school must be safely oriented and fully equipped with fire safety measures.

4. The enrolment of students at Elementary (Class 1-5/1-8) level and Senior Secondary (Class 6- 12/6-10/ 1-10/ 1-12) level must be at least more than the state average enrolment, for the category.
