1) Personal Pronouns :
A. Words used specifically in relation to persons
First Personal Pronouns : I, we, my, our, me, us, mine, ours.
Second Personal Pronouns: you, your, yours.
Third Personal Pronouns : he, she, it, they, him, her, them, his, hers, their, its, theirs.
Ex: That house is mine
These books are yours.
This pen is his.
That beautiful garden is ours.
Those horses are theirs.
2) Demonstrative Pronouns :
Words that point to objects are called Demonstrative Pronouns.
Ex: This is a present given by Rani
That is not my pen
That is not my pen.
These are pens donated by the Rotary Club.
this, that, these, those, such Demonstrative Pronouns.
3) Distributive Pronouns:
Each, Either, Neither are Distributive Pronouns.
Ex:
● Each of the boys has got his prize
● Either of the roads leads to the bus station
4) Relative Pronouns:
Connect two sentences by relating them to the Noun that precedes them
They are: who, whom, whose, which, what, that, such, as, but.
You met Manohar.
Manohar had just returned.
Manohar. నామవాచకానికిబదులుగా, ఒక Related Pronoun ఒకేవాక్యా న్ని వ్రాయడానికిఉపయోగించవచ్చు .
Ex:
1) You met Manohar. He had just returned.
You met Manohar who had just returned.
2) I have lost the pen. I bought the pen yesterday.
I have lost the pen which I bought yesterday.
3) You gave me a watch. I have lost the watch.
I have lost the watch which you gave me.
4) My uncle is dead. I loved my uncle.
My uncle whom I loved is dead.
5) I know the man. His leg was broken.
I know the man whose leg was broken.
5) Interrogative Pronouns :
Who, whom, which, what, whose Interrogative pronouns are.
● Who are you?
● Who is there ?
● Who is knocking at the door?
● Who is at the door?
● What is your father?
6) Indefine Pronoun:
Refer to any person or thing, without specifically referring to a person or thing.
any, anybody, anyone, one, none nobody, , somebody, some, someone, everyone , everybody,
all, a few, many
7) Reflexive Pronouns:
my, your, him, her, it + self =itself
reflexive pronouns: myself, yourself, himself, ourselves, yourselves, themselves & reflexive
pronouns
Ex:
● I learn English grammar myself.
● I will teach myself English grammar.
● She introduced herself
● They hurt themselves
8) Reciprocal Pronouns:
Each other (each other, mutually), One another (each other, mutually)
Pronouns that indicate that something is being done to each other are called reciprocal
pronouns.
1) He and she like each other.
2) Those girls hate one another.
Note: When talking about two people, use each other, and when talking about more than two
people, use one another.
9) Possessive Pronouns :
mine, yours, ours, hers, theirs, my, your, his, her
