In the reference cited the General Secretary, Confederation of Central Government Employees & Workers, AP & TS Unit, Hyderabad while referring to the orders to grant Special Leave on the next day of the poll to all the leave sanctioning authorities of the personnel who have been drafted as Presiding Officers Assistant Presiding Officers in 2014 has requested to iddue necessary orders to treat next day to the day of polling day as Special Casual Day/ paid holiday to those whose services have been utilized as Presiding Officers / Assistant Presiding Officers during the General Elections.
2. The District Election Officers are informed that the Election Commission of India on the request of the Chief Electoral Officer, Gujarat issued instructions to all the District Election Officers vide letter No.464/INST/2019/EPS, dated: 17th April 2019 to consider the polling staff as on duty on the next day of the poll day
3. In view of the above, all the leave sanctioning authorities of personnel who have been drafted for election duty are hereby requested to consider the polling staff i.e., Presiding Officer Assistant Presiding Officer who performed election duty in the recent General Elections to House of People, 2019, their absence on next day of poll as on duty, keeping in view their considerable long tiring duty hours on poll day, subject to submission of appointment order along with Duty Certificate or Acknowledgement of the election material received by the Returning Officer / Assistant Returning Officer of the Constituency
4 All the District Election Officers are, therefore, requested to take necessary action accordingly
