ORDER:-

In the reference 7th read above, the Director of School Education & Chairperson TET, Telangana, Hyderabad has stated that, in accordance with the Notification of NCTE F.No.61-1/2011-NCTE (N&S), dt:23.08.2010 (and amendment dt:29.07.2011) the Government have issued Guidelines for conduct of TET in Government Orders in the reference 1 cited in accordance with Lr.No.76-4/2010/Acad, dt: 11.02.2011 from the Member, Secretary NCTE. As per Rule 12 of G.O.Ms.No.36, School Education (Training) Department, dt:23.12.2015 Exemption from passing TET' is accorded to certain cadre of Teachers. Now the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India in Civil Appeal No.1385/2025 and batch of other related Civil Appeals dt:01.09.2025 has issued orders making TET mandatory for in-service Teachers in all non-Minority Schools.

2. The Director of School Education & Chairperson TET, Telangana, Hyderabad has requested to issue to Amendment to Rule 12 (EXEMPTION FROM PASSING TET) in G.O.Ms.No.36, School Education (Training) Department, dt:23.12.2015.

3. Government after careful examination of the proposal of the Director of School Education, Telangana and the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India in Civil Appeal No.1385/2025 and batch of other related Civil Appeals dt:01.09.2025 hereby issue the following amendment to the G.O.Ms.No.36, School Education (Trg) Department, dt:23.12.2025 read with G.O.Ms.No. 18, School Education (Ser.III) Department, dt:05.07.2024 & G.O.Ms.No.24, School Education (Ser.III) Department, dt:08.07.2025.

Under Rule 12-EXEMPTION FROM PASSING TET

Existing Rule

12-EXEMPTION FROM PASSING TET

Teachers who were appointed before 1. NCTE notification dt: 23.08.2010 by the Competent Authority in Govt./Local Authority as per Recruitment Rules prevalent at that time are exempted from appearing for TET. However, Teachers working in Private Schools whose appointments were not approved by the Competent Authority are not exempted from passing TET. Such Teachers of Private Unaided Schools shall appear for TET Conducted by either the State Govt. or Central Govt. In respect of non- 3 approved Teachers working in Private Aided Schools, they shall invariably appear for TET conducted by the State Government only.

To be amended as

Provision for in-service teachers to pass TET:

All in-service Teachers working in Government, Local Authority and Private (Aided and Unaided) management Schools are permitted to appear for TGTET conducted by the State Government or CTET central the conducted by Government. 

2. Secondary Grade Teachers and LFL Head Masters appointed with both D.El.Ed and B.Ed. qualification are School permitted to appear for Paper 1. 

3. School Assistants, Language Pandits and Head Masters of High Schools are permitted to appear for Paper II.
