Guidelines on Vanamahostavam-2025-26' Massive Plantation Programme to be Taken up in all Schools Rc.No.77/PS2/2025 Dated: 28.05.2025

Sub : School Education Vanamahostavam-2025-26' Massive Plantation Programme to be Taken up in all Schools in the State Certain instructions issued - Reg.

All the District Educational Officers in the State are herby directed to organize a massive plantation programme in all schools that have suitable spaces for plantation in coordination and with participation of Teachers, Headmasters, Students and staff. The following instructions shall be followed scrupulously.

1. Government have decided to conduct "Vanamahostavam" across the State on a mission mode and plantation is taken up on a large scale and increase Green cover. The premises of Educational Institutions, i.e., Schools (both Government and private) be identified as potential areas of planting.

2. Arrange for planting material in coordination with the District Forest Officer/MPDO.

3. Digging pits in advance as per size of the sapling and making arrangements for water source, tree guards etc.

4. Plants species that are preferably drought resistant, flowering, fruit bearing and shady plants, such as Neem, Tamarind, Kanuga, Curry leafs etc., shall be selected and planted with proper spacing as per the norms.

5. Each Student and Teacher shall adopt a plant and shall be made responsible for the survival of the plant in the school premises. Also, a plan of Action be prominently be displayed on the plantation done and the watering and fertigation plan, etc.,

6. The District Educational Officers shall coordinate with District Panchayath Officer and Forest Department at District Level and MEOS shall coordinate with MPDOs at Mandal level for logistic support, such as tie-up with Nurseries / Transportation of saplings / Pitting/supply of Manure etc.

7. All the MEOS, Head of the Schools and Teachers in all Schools are requested to take personal interest in "Vanamahost

8. avam" and make it a best model of Greening of schools and ensure clean air environment in all schools.

9. Identify VIP Plantation sites(1 or 2 in each district).

10. The District Educational Officers are informed that, to instruct the all Mandal Educational Officer/Dy.Eductional Officeres / Complex Head Masters to Identify the Schools to take up planting and further upload in "TGFMIS" Portal.

11. Ensure that proper arrangements are made for watering, watch and ward, wherever required.

12. Conduct District Level Monitoring frequently regarding 100% survival of plants, growth rate of plants etc, and to see the plantation, growth rate of the plants to upload in portal.

13. Government of India desires to take up mass planting on the name of "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" for the students / staff may be encouraged to plant saplings under the above programme.

14. Instruct the HMs / Principals of Govt, Private, Aided and Residential to take up the plantation both at approach road to the school and inside of the school in the available land.

15. The achievement of planting during Vanamahostavam period shall be upload in TGFMIS on day to day basis.

Further, all the District Educational Officers in the State are strictly instructed to Cover all Schools in all Managements in the District and also instructed to complete the plantation programme by 20.06.2025 and to take all steps to make a grand success of the "Vanamahostavam" programme.
