Grant of Maternity Leave/Child Care Leave to the students pursuing the teacher education courses in the TEIS recognised by the NCTE F.No.-NCTE-Leg1011/59/2023-Legal Section-NRC 16.08.2023 

బీఈడీ, డీఈఐఈడీ వంటి కోర్సుల్లోని విద్యార్థినులను దృష్టిలో పెట్టుకుని నేషనల్ కౌన్సిల్ ఆఫ్ టీచర్ ఎడ్యుకేషన్ (NCTE) కీలక నిర్ణయం తీసుకుంది. ఈ కోర్సుల్లోని విద్యార్థినులకు మెటర్నిటీ, చైల్డ్ కేర్ సెలవులు మంజూరు చేసింది. యూజీసీ రూల్స్ ప్రకారం ఆయా రాష్ట్రాల్లో అమల్లో ఉన్న సెలవులను వాడుకోవచ్చని తెలిపింది. కాగా, తెలంగాణలో 180 రోజుల పాటు మెటర్నిటీ, చైల్డ్ కేర్ సెలవులు అమలులో ఉన్నాయి.

Subject Grant of Maternity Leave/Child Care Leave to the students pursuing the teacher education courses in the TEIS recognised by the NCTE -regarding.

Madam/Sir,

In the light of Order dated 12.07.2023 passed by the Hon'ble High of Court of Allahabad in Writ- C 21941/2021 titled as Priyanka Shukla Vs. State of UP & Ors., the guidelines issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC) vide letter No. D.O. No.21-116/2021-CPP(II) dated 14.12.2021 regarding grant of Maternity Leave/Child Care Leave has been considered by the Chairperson, NCTE. In exercise of the powers conferred by Clause 12 of the NCTE Regulations 2014, the Chairperson NCTE has relaxed the clause of "Duration" mentioned in the Norms & Standards of all teacher education programme/s laid down in the NCTE Regulations 2014 as amended from time to time by inserting the following:

"The eligible candidates shall be entitled to avail the Maternity Leave/Child Care Leave as per guidelines issued by the UGC/State/UT Government/affiliating body concerned. The duration of the programme shall be enhanced accordingly in respect of the eligible candidates who shall avail the leave.

This issues with approval of the Competent Authority.
