Comments of PAB:

PAB expressed concern over the fact that number of schools having SNGs have drastically come down from 12301 in 2021-22 to 1449 in 2022- 23. Further PAB advised State to ensure correct data submission by districts. PAB Minutes of meeting of PAB-PM POSHAN for Telangana-2023-2024 Page 6 of 23 advised the State Government to make concerted efforts for development of School Nutrition Gardens in all schools. State Government may develop school nutrition gardens in remaining schools in convergence with local Krishi Vigyan Kendras, Agriculture Department and Horticulture Department etc. The funds available under MNREGS of Department of Rural Development for certain eligible components may also be utilized in convergence with them".

Therefore, they are requested to take immediate steps to develop school nutrition gardens including Drumstick tree (Moringa). The Moringa leaves may give amazing health benefits viz., Vitamins, Minerals, Acids, Antioxidants, Fight inflammation etc., in remaining schools in convergence with local Krishi Vigyan Kendras, Agriculture Department and Horticulture Department etc, so that it shall ensure to get fresh and quality vegetables and helps for safety health of the children.
