 I wish to inform you that it is scheduled to conduct the written Examinationthroughout the Telangana Statein all Revenue Divisional Head Quarters for the students studying VIII Class during the academic year 2021-22under the National Means - Cum - Merit Scholarship scheme sponsored by the Ministry of Human Resource Development , New Delhi . Date of examination will be informed later . 

Selection of the candidates for award of scholarships will be made on the basis of performance in thewrittenExamination The scholarship starts from Class IX and would continue till Class XIIif the candidate satisfies the eligibility conditions ( as per the general guide lines which are kept in this office web site ) of MHRD @ Rs.12,000 / - per annum .

 The main objective of the scheme is to award Scholarship to the economically poor meritorious students studying as regular in Government Government Aided / local body Schools to arrest dropouts at Class VIII and to encourage them to continue their studies till class XII . 


Eligibility : 

i ) studying VIII Class during the academic year 2021-22 by : passing VII Class in 2020-21 with atleast 55 % or equivalent grade ( for SC / ST's 5 % relaxable and also the students who gotpromoted under referral cited from VII to VIII Class for the academic year 2020-21 may also be applied . 

 ii ) Candidates who are studying as regular students in Government / ZillaParishad / Municipal / Government Aided High schools / UP School under Govt or local bodyand model schools which have no residential facilityonly are eligible to appear for the examination and the selected students should continue their studies in above said category of schools only . Otherwise they forgo their eligibility for scholarship . ( The students studying in Kendriya Vidyalayas and JawaharNavodaya Vidyalayas , Residential schools run by the State Government institutions where facilities like boarding , lodging and education are provided and in private schools including Sainik Schools are not eligible to appear for this exam ) .

 iii ) Whose parental annual income is below Rs.1,50,000 / - from all sources is eligible to appear for the examination ( an Income certificate from Mandal Revenue Officer has to be submitted as proof in original ) . In case parents are Govt . Employees , a latest Salary Certificate from his employer should be submitted in original .

 Examination :
 It comprises two parts , namely
 ( i ) Mental Ability Test ( MAT ) and 
( ii ) Scholastic Aptitude Test ( SAT ) covering sciences , mathematics and social sciences , of classes VII & VIII . MAT & SAT will have 90 multiple choice questions each and each question will carry one mark . i.e.90 + 90-180 questions and 180 marks.Duration of time is 180 minutes . ( one minute for each question ) .30 minutes extra per each session will be provided for Physically disabled candidates .
